The Basics Of Image and Text

The first lecture of the elective began with a look into how different sides of the human brain process information, as well as how these could refer to Image and Text (with the right hand side of the brain more capable of processing image, the left perhaps more suited to text and language). However, it is not always that easy to define these areas so completely, particularly when it is considered that maybe text is simply a collection of images and symbols that in fact we recognise as words.
Perhaps a more effective way of discussing the left side/right side debate would be to consider the 'unstructured vs. structured' principle of Dionysus, although this was only briefly touched upon.
