Our first task in understanding the fundamentals of how image and text operate as separate entities was to perform a written description of Peter Bruegel's 'Netherlandish Proverbs', and a drawing based on the description of Albrecht Durer's Rhinoceros engraving. Both produced completely different results from the originals, although drawing from a description proved more successful that a written description of an image.
